EleSync is a privacy-focused, local-first memory vault published by darknodebros, designed to synchronize AI assistant memory across multiple clients using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The software falls within the developer tools and AI infrastructure category, addressing the problem of fragmented memory between AI assistants by maintaining a single folder of markdown files on the user's machine that serves as a shared, persistent memory store. Claude Desktop, ChatGPT in Developer Mode, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, Cline, and any other MCP-aware client can read from and write to this vault live, communicating over stdio or Streamable HTTP. Typical use cases include developers and knowledge workers who operate several AI assistants in parallel and want consistent context, preferences, and accumulated knowledge available across all of them without copying data manually, as well as users who require that sensitive assistant memory remain under local control rather than in vendor cloud services. Key capabilities include cross-AI provenance tracking, so that the origin of each memory entry is recorded; conflict detection for handling divergent writes from different clients; supersession history that preserves earlier versions of updated memories; scoped per-client views that allow fine-grained control over what each assistant can access; at-rest encryption to protect stored content; and encrypted portable USB vaults for moving memory between machines securely. Because the product is local-first, all data resides on the user's hardware by default, aligning with privacy-sensitive workflows. EleSync is distributed as a standalone executable that bundles both the command-line interface and the MCP server, eliminating the need for a Python installation and simplifying deployment on a wide range of systems. The current release is version 1.17.0, and one version of the software is currently listed in the catalog.
